Jill's Birthday Purse

I made a purse for my friend Jill using Vogue #8466 View C.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?: Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?: Yes. This was my first Vogue pattern so I was nervous but I had no issues.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?: The seam allowance changed throughout the pattern, so I like that the stitching line was printed on the pattern tissue so I could mark my fabric.

Fabric Used: The outside is a cotton quilting batik. The lining is a navy blue Country Classic quilting cotton. The strap is a home decor trim. All were purchased at Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: There is supposed to be a facing around the zipper but I omitted it because it made things too complicated. The strap is supposed to be covered with fabric, but I omitted that as well.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?: Yes and yes. I think this would be a great first project for learning how to sew suede or leather.
